Product Description

It's 1914 and it's Czarist Russia. Karena Peshkova has big dreams of becoming a student at the Imperial College of Medicine and Midwifery and then following her mother's footsteps to becoming a midwife. While on a visit to see her cousin, Tatiana, she meets Colonel Aleksandr Kronstadt and the attraction is immediate. Although they both know neither can act on it, Alex comes to her rescue when she's accused of being part of the Bolshevik conspiracy. Alex is willing to risk everything for Karena, but will this be enough to save her life?

I loved this story . Just finished it this morning! Please say there is a sequel coming for this. We need to know if Alex and Karena ended up together or if Karena and her family has to flee to Finland. It is sort of sad that it ended the way it did if there is not more to come!!

I loved it! It was absolutely fantastic. But I hated the ending. Unless it means there is a second book on it's way, then it's a good way to keep you interested. Because you're just dying to know how the story will continue. This book really is a good tip for friends and family. it will keep you occupied until you have read the last page!

This book has both history and romance which I like. I appreciated the Russian history. The book kept me interested, yet I never got fully involved with the characters (that may be my fault), nor was I completely satisfied with the ending (is another book coming?).

Excellent read. I couldn't put it down. I'm a huge fan of Linda Chaikin and this was one of her best, I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Great story, lots of history. I only wished for a ending without so much guess work. A great beginning but what happens later.
