Bobbie3030Oklahoma CityAge: 55-65Gender: Female1 Stars Out Of 5One Scene NOT for ChildrenJanuary 14, 2015Bobbie3030Oklahoma CityAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1There is a scene where a child gets runned over by a car. You can see the car going up and down and he gets runned over TWICE. The scene shows the child laying on the floor and his sibling (2 brothers) get in the car and the brother driver, runs his brother over accidentally. I was very upset by seeing this terrible part and I know children would be too. Just that one part spoiled the entire movie for me! My son (22) said the movie makers; shouldn't have put that scene in the movie.

After we finished watching it, we found that it was a true story. This, to me, is what family is all about... the way it used to be... the way we need it to be today. I highly recommend this DVD for family members of all ages.
At times I felt the dad was a little TOO strict, but all in all, I'd rather err in that direction, than go the way of the world today where children have an attitude of entitlement early on. We need more responsible members of society, and this is the only way that will happen.

I do not know why it is sold at CBD since the overall message contradicts the Gospel of Christ. We all need Jesus, but the movie says otherwise.
Q: Does the movie The Measure of a Man, have LDS roots? I live in Utah and I'm not Mormon. I just watched the trailer and it caught my attention that when they were praying together, they crossed their arms in front of their body, instead of holding hands or just bowing their heads with their own hands clasped together. I know this may seem very trivial, but when you are a Christian living in Utah, it's a little disturbing. The Mormons always pray with their arms crossed in front, like I saw in the trailer.
Athough the writer and directors of this movie do come from an LDS background, the movie does not present the characters as coming from the Mormon faith.
