Publisher's Description

This is the definitive biography of Reverend Bob Childress of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Often compared to Mark Twain's tales of the Mississippi, the style and the text show, with stark clarity, the transforming effects Childress and his ministry had on the rough and wild mountain communities of this section of Virginia.

This book is an excellent documentary and testimony to how one man took the total plunge in his faith in God, and then positively changed the community he served. Renewed my faith that God works in today's times just as powerful as He did in the times of the Scriptures. A must read for men that want to make a difference in their lives serving God.

This biography was very interesting. There are times of excitment with stories of people shooting at each other and there are tender times when you feel the sadness or the caring through the pages. I highly recommend this book.
