Don Brown is the author of Thunder in the Morning Calm, The Malacca Conspiracy, The Navy Justice Series, and The Black Sea Affair, a submarine thriller that predicted the 2008 shooting war between Russia and Georgia. Don served five years in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps, which gave him an exceptional vantage point into both the Navy and the inner workings "inside-the-beltway" as an action officer assigned to the Pentagon. He left active duty in 1992 to pursue private practice, but remained on inactive status through 1999, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He and his family live in North Carolina, where he pursues his passion for penning novels about the Navy. www.donbrownbooks.com Facebook: Don-Brown

Brown's style and character development shines brightly in this book. Brings a relatively unknown area of the world right onto the worldwide stage.
Lisa Boyce2 Stars Out Of 5November 18, 2010Lisa BoyceI've read the Navy Justice series and followed the characters of Zack Brewer and Diane Colcernian. I enjoyed those books very much but was disappointed with The Malacca Conspiracy.
First, at the beginning of the book, author Don Brown mentioned a significant rift in the relationship between Zack and Diane. She wouldn't return his calls or even speak to him. Yet, when the two characters meet again, it's as if that rift didn't even exist. Nothing is ever mentioned of Zack and Diane working through the issue to achieve an understanding.
**SPOILER WARNING** - Secondly, after a nuclear weapon was detonated in the city of Philadelphia, there were no automatic procedures taken to protect President Mack Williams by transferring him to a secure location. No precautionary measures at all to protect the President of the United States from an imminent nuclear threat?!?!
The main plot seemed very realistic and illustrated just how easy it probably is to transport contraband materials into the US. I did like the last scene in the Rose Garden.
Carole Skeen5 Stars Out Of 5September 30, 2010Carole SkeenAs with his other books, I could not put it down. His books make you feel like you are reading in a current newspaper. He is up to date and to the minute on current affairs. Looking forward to the next one!
Jodie Roach5 Stars Out Of 5September 8, 2010Jodie RoachI could not put this one down! The perfect ending for Zach and Dianne - (if you've read the Navy Justice series which I would also reccomend) but still an excellent story. I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys action, drama and romance all in one and has a keen interest in law, politics and defence forces. I loved it and I can't wait for more books by Don Brown.
Andy Caldwell5 Stars Out Of 5September 8, 2010Andy CaldwellThe Malacca Conspiracy is my first book I have read by Don Brown. Politics and religion aside, I enjoyed getting lost in the story with the characters. The flow of the story was good enough to keep me running back to the book to read before bed. I also realized that there are other books with the main characters in which I would like to read in the near future. I would highly recommend this book as a great weekend or vacation read.
