This touching, funny, heartwarming and true story will become an instant Christmas Classic. In the late sixties, New York Times bestselling author Andy Andrews thought he was having a very good Christmas. He got the Incredible Edible Machine and the G.I. Joe he asked for. He even got a white belt. He also got socks from his Aunt Jane-a very lousy Christmas gift-no one could argue that. How could he know that those lousy socks would change Christmas and him forever. Includes a CD with the author's performance of Socks.
Hailed by a New YorkTimes reporter as someone who has quietly become one of the most influential people in America, Andy Andrews is a best-selling novelist, speaker, and consultant for the worlds largest corporations and organizations. He has spoken at the request of four different United States presidents and recently addressed members of Congress and their spouses. Andy is the author of three New York Times bestsellers. He and his wife, Polly, have two sons.
Kathleen Sapp5 Stars Out Of 5One of Andy's best...but they're ALL terrificAugust 28, 2011Kathleen SappQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book, written by Andy Andrews, of whom I am a true fan, is so well written (as all of his books) that I even enjoyed the historical portions. He presents the historical figures in a way that I WANTED to remember them. Was not previously a fan of history, but after reading this book as well as The Heart Mender, I have become one.
The main subject is so inspirational, I wanted to begin reading the book again as soon as I was finished!

For me there was to many things left unanswered . Like all on Andy's books very little credit to God either himself or his charaters it is all what they did themsleves. all of his books leave me with a feeling of unease. Why deny what God is doing in your life.
Jennifer Poole5 Stars Out Of 5March 5, 2008Jennifer PooleWhat a wonderful way to learn about some fascinating historical facts, but also gain great insight into human nature and the consequences of our choices. This was an outstanding book; and one which I bought for all of my own children to have.
