Breathtakingly Awesome!!! One of my all time favorite series ever...I have read it twice and would gladly read it again!! It's filled with action and suspense. Yes, it does get pretty gory towards the end, but I didn't think it was very bad so it depends on your preference. It's another one of Ted Dekker's amazing, good vs. evil plots that keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time! I recommend it for 13 y/o and up, simply because of the violence and gore. Still, it's a great series that I loved!!!!!! :) June 30, 2012

Loved the 1st 4 books, last 2 not so much You will love the 1st 4 books of this series. I bought these for my 12-year old son, but pre-read them because Ted Dekker material can be too adult for a pre- or early teen. The 1st 4 were awesome, and my son is currently gobbling them up. However, I won't be giving him the last two to read, which I forced myself to finish hoping for some sort of satisfying wrap-up. Didn't get it. Kaci Hill co-authored the last two, and I found the writing to be choppy and hard to follow, but mostly just depressing and dark, and too violent for a 12 year old. (Bodies bloody and torn from repeated torture? Ick. Too much of that.) Even moments of redemption seemed forced and cheerless. That said, I think the 1st 4 in the series can stand up on their own, just skip the last 2. Or read them, but without super high expectations. Maybe they would make more sense if I had read the "Circle" series which I understand is the larger, wraparound story. And which I am eagerly buying right now. (-: October 6, 2011

Loved the gift pack set This was a gift for my 15-year old nephew who loves this series, but I am familiar with this author, and love his writing style. I'm very excited that he writes on several levels so that we can all enjoy his work. February 21, 2011
