StepheniaAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Sweet, faith-based storyFebruary 8, 2013StepheniaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3Kristen is determined to do life on her own, but trouble keeps coming. She's been out of work, her boyfriend stops calling and now the new landlord threatens to raise rent and forbid pets. Despite her frustration with him, Kristen is drawn to Dave's blue eyes and striking smile. No matter where she goes, she keeps bumping into him. She feels a spark, but he keeps sending mixed signals. Her heart runs away with her and despite a promising offer from a handsome young lawyer, she can't keep her mind off Dave.
This sweet romance, while fairly slow, shows a family with very strong Christian values. Their faith takes precedence in every decision made and the author does not shy away from the Christian message. The characters are likable, and I give this story 3 stars and recommend it as a leisurely read for booklovers who like a faith-based story.

Tell us a little about yourself. First of all, my heart belongs to Jesus. My husband of 40 years, our five adult children, their spouses and our eight grandkids squeeze into my heart, expanding it daily. I've been writing in earnest for over ten years. Never had time before! Jim and I owned a country inn in the Pocono Mountains of PA for eleven years and I met so many interesting people. Some of them appear, though disguised, in my novels. While at the inn, I sold a lot of my original oil paintings and used my ability to play the piano to accompany my guests in sing-alongs. I also cooked, ran art workshops and cleaned rooms - when need be. I enjoy my new writing life and use my fiction to drop seeds of faith and words of encouragement.
What was your motivation behind this project? Each of my novels is about people facing real life problems from a Christian perspective. Even though we have God, we still live in a fallen world and there are temptations and difficulties that try our souls. My characters are people you can relate to - people you will end up caring about. I prefer realism over fantasy. My husband and I are landlords, so it wasn't difficult to find a story line. Plus, I'm a cat lover, and definitely can relate to my heroine and her insistence on keeping her pet!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope my readers will find encouragement in their walk with Christ - through the valleys as well as the high points. There is humor in this novel and I hope it will bring smiles to your day.
