First of all, her name is Elise Finster, not Kleinschmidt. Anyway, I really liked this book. For anyone who wishes they would have been born "back in the day" this is a fascinating read. Parts of pioneer life are skipped over for the sake of the story line, but you get the picture of what life was like traveling the wagon train. It has enough mystery to keep a reader's attention, and enough romance to stir your emotions. I'm glad I read it.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I understand there may be a sequel and I am anxious to find it if that is the case. I really enjoyed the characters in this and how they stepped up to the challenges they had searching for her uncle!
For anyone who loves historical fiction this is an excellent choice. The story is completely believable and the love between the characters is clearly felt. I was totally immersed in this story from the first page.
