Celebrating the 400th anniversary of the 1611 King James Version Bible For nearly 400 years, the Authorized Version of the Bible—popularly known as the King James Version—has been beloved for its majestic phrasing and stately cadences. No other book has so profoundly influenced our language and our theology.
Over time, however, the text has suffered subtle and occasionally troublesome alterations. This attractive edition preserves the original 1611 edition. Word for word and page for page, the text with its original marginal notes, preface ("The Translators to the Reader"), and other introductory material appear as they first did. The sole concession to modernity is a far more readable roman typeface set by nineteenth-century master printers. Elegantly bound with old-world quality craftsmanship, this is the perfect edition of the incomparable King James Version for study and for sheer enjoyment.
Features include - The only word-for-word facsimile of the original 1611 Authorized Version on the market
- Handsome page design with clearer modern type and decorative initials is convenient to read and reference
- The text is complete with the Apocrypha, plus the original preface and translators' notes. Alfred Pollard's classic essay on pre-1611 English translations and the history of the Authorized Version is also included
- Ribbon marker

This is it! The real 1611 King James Version of the Holy Bible. Not only is this the Word of God with it's original spelling, grammar, and layout as done by King James' revisers, but it also contains a detailed history of the version itself. It explains the previous versions and events that led up to King James appointing the best scholars of the day to translate the original Greek and Hebrew into the King's English. It is delightful to read through this Bible and see how much the English language has changed in four hundred years, even though God's Word changes not. I highly recommend this Bible to any Bible enthusiast or student of the Word.

Getting use to the language and some of the letters that are a bit different then what we are use to today, took a bit of time, other than that it is interesting to use and learn from.

I enjoy reading this "old" bible, and comparing it to my regular KJV. Sometimes hard to read, but needed reading...it builds wisdom every Christian needs.

We bought the 1611 Bible for resource work and comparison with modern translations. It is interesting to read the old English style of writing.

The 1611 is awesome. It is exactly what I was looking for. I had a little trouble finding a 1611 that wasn't outrageously priced.
I have started studying the Apocrypha and I wanted to have the 1611 so as I minister to others I could show them that those books are from the Bible. I use a separate Apocrypha for most study as the old English in the 1611 can be difficult but it is nice to have the facsimile 1611 for credibility sake.
