I have mixed feelings about this book. While Dr. Page and Mr. Perry have put together a very readable and understandable presentation, I did not personally get a clear idea of where our church should go. Granted, each church is under different parameters, but the book's mixed bag of isolated success stories and helpful catch phrases left me unsatisfied.Don't get me wrong, the book is definately worth buying/reading if just to spark some flames into a smouldering congregational philosophy. Just don't expect a "silver bullet" from their wisdom (I don't think there IS a one-bullet-fits-all soution). Also, expect some of their advice to seem counter-intuitive... such as "raising the bar for church membership..." to increase retention rates. I also believe in breaking some eggs to make an omelet. Bottom line, a very worth-while read but expect no specific solutions. DR. Page and Mr. Perry did a great job.E.H.
