Publisher's Description

I live in Yakima, Washington with my beautiful wife Kathy. God brought us together through a mutual friend and God has blessed both of our lives after having lost our first spouses. Kathy brought two wonderful young men into our union and since then one of them has added a granddaughter to our family. Not having any children of my own I have had to take a crash course on being a parent and now a grandparent. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, but my career has taken a diverse pathway over the course of my life. I have worked in a lab as a chemist, a designer/drafter for an engineering company and an office manager for an electrical contractor. But my most unusual and challenging time was the two years I spent in Ethiopia with the Peace Corps teaching math and science. That time has put within me a yearning for travel, of learning about diverse cultures and meeting new people that has not diminished since it was put there some forty years ago.My relationship with Jesus began when I was five years old and even though there have been times that I have failed him; he has always been faithful to me. I serve in my local church in whatever capacity God needs and I have been on two short term missions' trips, one to China and one to Hungary that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Tell us a little about yourself.   I live in Yakima, Washington with my beautiful wife. That time has put within me a yearning for travel, of learning about diverse cultures and meeting new people that has not diminished since it was put there some forty years ago. My relationship with Jesus began when I was five years old and even though there have been times that I have failed him; he has always been faithful to me. I serve in my local church in whatever capacity God needs and I have been on two short term missions trips, one to China and one to Hungary that I thoroughly enjoyed.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I was awakened early one morning with the basic storyline burning in my mind. Over the next few days God wouldn't allow me to forget it, but kept prompting me to write the story into a novel.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  First and foremost that if they do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior that they would come to know him and begin a relationship with him. And secondly, if you already have a relationship with Jesus that your level of trust in his faithfulness is increased and your relationship with Jesus is strengthened.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  My level of trust in a loving Heavenly Father was challenged and as I studied scripture on the subject it strengthened my faith.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  The Holy Bible has the most influence on my life, but gleaning bits and pieces of inspiration over a lifetime from many different sources has helped shape by worldview and belief system.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  This novel is set in Crescent City, CA and deals with the city's history of being the "tsunami capital" of the West Coast. I felt a strong compunction to finish this novel when I did and shortly after I had submitted my manuscript to the publisher the tsunami that struck Japan also affected Crescent City, CA.
