Publisher's Description
The Great I Ams of Jesus employs the statement of Peter when Jesus called upon the disciples to give a summary of what people thought of Him. Peter’s reply to Who say you that I am? laid a foundation for different faiths to establish a premise upon what their beliefs embrace. Peter declared Jesus to be the Christ the Son of the living God. Some say they are the original Church that dates back to Peter. Others take issue with that and establish their faith and practice on a historical moment when a group meets or met to state their origin. This book takes another statement of Peter in Acts 2:23 about the determinate counsel and fore knowledge of God. Jesus identified Himself as being from above in chapter one. Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 confirm that concept.
From that biblical evidence Jesus does not reveal Himself and claimed to be before Abraham. In each chapter the statements of Jesus about who He was or is analysises Jesus’ fulfillment of Isaiah’s prediction of a child being born to a young maiden who will become a King in His glory.
Jesus promised His apostles He would be with them always and after His resurrection the Holy Spirit came to live in the believer. After these explanations an analysis of Whom say ye that I am is explored.
Certain words are taken from the Hebrew and Greek texts to be studied in their setting at the time they were used to determine the true meaning in relationship with other words.
This is a prophetic hope. In Romans 10:1 Paul registers his desire that Israel might be saved. Then adds: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes.
