Tell us a little about yourself. Julie-Allyson Ieron (pronounced: I-RUN) is excited about her newest book: The God Interviews: Questions You Would Ask; Answers God Gives.
Julie is a perceptive journalist who investigates Gods truth and crafts her discoveries in ways that engage your mind and resonate with your heart. Her passion is to open Gods Word alongside you to equip you to apply its riches to your daily joys, questions, and challenges.
She recently celebrated 25 years as an author, writing coach, editor, and conference speaker. Her ministry-defining project released in 2010: The Julie-Allyson Ieron Bible Reference Collection on WORDsearch 9.0. It features 9 of Julies books linked with 75 Bible reference resources. Additionally, most of her books are available in MP3 audio and e-book formats, as well as print. Her book, The Overwhelmed Womans Guide to Caring for Aging Parents is a featured resource for Focus on the Family, where she was a radio guest.
Julie loves to come alongside others to encourage them to pursue an ever-deepening relationship with Christ.
Her personal life is as dynamic as her writing. She is her dads medical advocate, and along with her mom Joy (who is quick to point out shes not Julies aging parent!) daily administers his tests, meds, and shots. In more relaxed times, Julie and Joy play violin and organ duets for weddings and church services (sometimes for funerals, too). Julie plays violin in her churchs orchestra, dabbles in art for fun, and plays a killer game of Scrabble.
What was your motivation behind this project? Todays women are desperate for a one-stop place to go with questions where theyll encounter the Truth. Quite possibly you fit that category yourself. Now, I dont claim to hold the answers, but I do know the One Who always makes Himself available to enlighten us. In The GOD Interviews, I used the setting of a fictional newsroom where Christ arrives on set in person to create the forum for everyday women to ask their gut-wrenching questions. Then, drawing on direct statements from God right out of the Bible, I created chapters that apply His answers to real life. If you promise to keep this just between us girls, Ill give you a sneak-peak at the best answer I found: He does speak to us todaybecause lovingly, uniquely He crafted each of us to fit the tapestry of His plan.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I think youll find the characters who populate the newsroom engaging, and youll find in the nothing-but-the-truth handling of Bible promises a pattern for leading women to the Ultimate Answer. Even more, I hope youll discover that the God of the Universe has a passion to interact with youOne on one. His Son opened the door to invite you into the conversation. Now, its up to you. Go ahead. Ask Him your questions. Youll make His day.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? As I explain in my new book from Leafwood Publishers, The GOD Interviews, turning 40 made my questions scream all the louder: Call it midlife crisis. Call it redirection. Call it a course correction that was a long time coming. All I know is that with an intensity Id never before experienced questions were just about bowling me over.
