Well-known authors and researchers John Ankerberg, John Weldon, and Dillon Burroughs have updated and revised The Facts on Roman Catholicism, an important title from the popular Facts On Series (more than 1.9 million copies of books from this series sold).
Presented in a convenient question-and-answer format, readers are given a general overview and detailed information based on a biblical evaluation of the Roman Catholic Church. They discover similarities and differences between the basic theologies of Catholicism and Protestantism. Topics include:
- Have the basic doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church changed?
- What are the sacraments, and how do they function in the life of a Catholic believer?
- What does the Catholic Church teach concerning salvation?
- What unique role does Mary have in Roman Catholicism, and is it biblical?
- Can the differences between Catholics and Evangelicals be set aside?

Rather than calling the pope the anti-Christ and giving the usual run down of mythical Catholic/political tirades this book gives both Catholic and Biblical doctrines as fact. Extremely helpful were the many quotes and foot notes to established Roman Catholic doctrinal woks. This is what the Bible says, this is what Catholic theologians say, you decide. I find it very, very useful.
James5 Stars Out Of 5January 7, 2010JamesJohn continues to use Scripture in discussing the false doctrines in Roman teaching. This is a powerful tool for reaching out to others in the Catholic faith. Also check out at CBD, "Reasoning from the Scriptures with Catholics". A great and loving instruction book on pointing your Catholic friends to the Word of God instead of man made dogma.
Pablo1 Stars Out Of 5December 29, 2009PabloUnfortunately, this book does not represent the Catholic Church accurately. It continually provides biased opinions of what the Church teaches instead of looking into the actual teachings themselves. I rate it a zero because the title is misleading as it is more of an opinion based, biased representation of what the Catholic Church is believed to be instead of a factual representation of what the Catholic Church is.
