HannahW5Newland, NCAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5I have always enjoyed the Duggar Family!October 8, 2010HannahW5Newland, NCAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I always wondered how the Duggars done everything! I am a Preacher's wife, I have three small children and I could not imagine having 19! I also have two precious babies in Heaven with my Lord. So I guess you could say three and counting for me! haha But God has Blessed them so much! I am a great fan of the family as well as this book. The only thing I still question is how does Mrs. Michelle stay so calm? I find my self going crazy at times! But have a common ground with the Duggar family, that is our Faith in God! So I love the book, the show and just watching their precious family grow in children and love for serving other's and God! They are real people just trying to serve our Lord. God Bless!

Mary5 Stars Out Of 5June 30, 2010MaryWe're an Orthodox Christian family, so our beliefs are a bit different than the mainstream evangelical belief system; however, it is refreshing to see a Christian family being portrayed in a positive light. Sure, Michelle is very sweet, but is that so terrible? We should all strive to be so patient and loving. Sure, the kids are a little sheltered, but as a homeschooling parent myself I can tell you that we tend to believe that our children should be brought up to be strong in both the spirit and the knowledge of their beliefs. This way when they do enter the "real world" and are faced with temptation they are not swayed and they are firmly rooted in their beliefs. It is much more difficult to raise children in the sinful "real world" and keep them from being tempted by it than to raise them in a nurturing, safe, Christian environment where they are slowly introduced to the lure of sin. Lastly, I think every family is different and God calls each of us to do different things. The Duggars' calling was to have a large family. Others are called to adopt or take in foster children. Michelle and Jim Bob are both very clear about this. They are sharing their light with the world, not suggesting that others follow in their exact path. It's such a lovely book and a wonderful show--one of the very few my children are actually allowed to watch! I recommend the book wholeheartedly to those who are interested in seeing how such a large, loving Christian family mangages daily life. Those few who have such negative things to say about the family have sadly missed the point.
