Mabel Elizabeth Singletary has worked as an educator for over twenty-eight years. Currently she serves on the board of directors of C.A.R.E Ministries, Inc. She attends and teaches Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens. She and Bishop Charles V. Singletary have two children and reside in Somerset, New Jersey.
Mabel Elizabeth Singletary’s book Just Jump is a very well-written book about a jump rope team. I enjoyed how these talented young girls learn to trust God and pull together as a team, even when times are tough and things don’t always go the way they planned. I really liked the way Singletary described the girls’ jump rope routines- it made me feel as if I was there jumping with them. Although this is a very good book and I will definitely read it again, the way Singletary introduced the main characters made it slightly difficult to keep them all straight in my mind. Overall, this is a very well-written, interesting and energetic story.
