With an extensive knowledge of American popular culture, Staub quotes from rock lyrics, movies, and other mainstream media, finding much that is superficial, therapeutic, and overly focused on celebrity and profit. But instead of combatting, "cocooning," or conforming to culture, a Christian should seek to understand and transform it. 240 pages, hardcover. Jossey-Bass.

This book is a much needed book of today. It is a critique of both modern culture and evangelical Christianity in America. There needs to be a change in our thinking. This book is a great start! Highly recommended! P.S. I am a youth pastor of 13 + years in an evangelical church.
