Every aspect of seasons is explored here with full page illustrations, intriguing sidebars and informative text. Both the scientific changes that create seasons, and their hallmarks of monsoons, dry seasons, hurricanes and tornados, are explained with well crafted illustrations. Yet not only is the technical side of seasons explored, but the author takes great care to include the cultural aspects of seasons, whether sports, festivals or other traditions from around the world. 96 pages, hardcover with dust-jacket.

I was extremely disappointed to find that this book did not include Easter or Christmas, two of the most important celebrated holidays. Interestingly though it did include St. Patrick's Day and Halloween. I returned the book because I did not feel comfortable with the content and would never give it to a child.

Exquisite artwork! At first, I thought they were photographs. A good book for children and nature lovers, this book has some good introductory information, sciencewise, but the parent may want to read through it with thier child(ren) to discuss theory in some places. It's a good starter book and a good compliment to beginning sudies on the different seasons.

A very colorful book perfect for beginner science students. Short subject matter with the opportunity to explore more if so desired. I use it for a 2nd and 1st grader and we are enjoying it tremendously.

Don't buy this book even for 4.95 - it mentions all holidays but our own and is very biased. If you want a book about the seasons there are bound to be ones out there that if they mention holidays will not omit Christmas and Easter.
