Generally a good volume, easy to read and understand up until Calvin arrives. At that point, Calvin becomes the perfect teacher of Christianity. Arminians are stark heretics. The other forms of Christianity become ignored, or if they can't be ignored, mentioned without stating that they disagree with Calvin.
I find this to be an objective overview of church history written for junior high level and up. I am currently using it as a part of our homeschooling curriculum with our gradeschool age sons. The diagrams, photos and mini-timelines throughout keep things in perspective. The end of chapter questions are great for review. I would highly recommend it for a study on church history.
