Product DescriptionThe Chuck Wagon Gang is still rolling after 70 years of singing gospel songs the way they should be sung---the old-time way. Join the Gang as they celebrate their milestone anniversary with the Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Scaggs, Lulu Roman, the Sons of the Pioneers, and other country legends. Staying true to Dad Carter's legacy, they proclaim the gospel in "I Saw the Light"; "Looking for a City"; "Heaven's Jubilee"; "Family Bible"; and more.

Located in: Nashville, TN Submitted: May 08, 2006 Tell us a little about yourself. My introduction to Southern gospel music was at the age of 4, listening to 'The Bible Told Me So' album of the Statesmen Quartet. That influenced me to want to grow up and sing. Over the years, I have pastored, taught Bible College, and sang with various groups. What a blessing it is to be a part of such a wonderful heritage as the Chuck Wagon Gang. What was your motivation behind this project? Celebrating 70 years singing the same style, with the same sound, the Gang thought it would be good to highlight the influence of our music on others that share our love for old fashioned gospel music. We invited various country legends, who were delighted to be a part of this celebration. As we tour the country this year, we will sing most of the songs on the project, hoping to bring back 'precious memories' of the days gone by. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This project is special to us, because so many of the legends who joined us on the album shared with us the impact the original group had on their lives and careers. Every group or individual on the album has a testimony of a personal relationship with the Lord. To us, that was critical. We hope each one who buys the album enjoys the selections and the arrangements that we put together. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Personally, I grew up hearing the Chuck Wagon Gang on the radio, as have so many of you. Our family sang together for years out of the Chuck Wagon Gang song book. The songs are songs I love and pledge to keep alive as long as I am able to sing. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: You can go to our web site to find our schedule of appearances...we would love to see each of you at a concert this year. God bless and keep each of you, our supporters. Find Related ProductsDownload Media Players |
