Katherine Spencer was a fiction editor before turning to a full-time career as a writer. The author of more than twenty books for both children and adults, she lives with her husband and daughter in a small village on the Long Island Sound, very much like Cape Light.

This book in the series is kind of "off the wall" different. Not to many people can make a regular habit of running in the snow, but our mayor does. Then to find an abandoned baby that close to the holiday in the cold on one of those runs, just is far-fetched.But we read it, because it is another good read.
