My family read a Bible story and prayed together every night from when my 3 children were infants until they left for college, and we wore out 5 or 6 Bible story books over the course of the 24 years from the oldest's birth to the youngest's leaving home. This was my children's favorite of them all, and now I give one of these to every child baptized in our church. It's GREAT! Short stories, cool pictures, and it covers most of the Bible.

Was not impressed with how the stories were presented. Information like the "6 week flood" isn't exactly what the bible teaches and I don't want to reteach my children when they get older.

I was looking for a book of Bible stories that my 8 and 9-year olds could read with mom and I. I wanted a comprehensive storybook and not one with a few or the most popular stories. I preferred one with good art. This edition fits the bill nicely. The stories are engaging and well written, and the copious art is nicely rendered and printed. Since we wanted a book to encourage the kid's reading and to reinforce their familiarity with Bible stories, we weren't overly concerned about some criticisms of doctrinal deviations we read about here. Our family studies the Bible itself, and this book is not intended to be instructional as much as devotional. We talk together and can clarify any points of doctrine that this book may throw into question. All in all, reading these stories as they are doesn't cause much conflict in our children's minds, and we don't see the need to nit pick.

My only criticism of the book itself is the cheap-ish binding. I would hope a book like this could be a keeper and passed down, but at the low price, I suppose it is all that could be expected.

My granddaughter is really enjoying the stories in this bible. She looks forward to having them read to her before she goes to be.

I got this book to use with MOPS-Mothers of Preschoolers-for the children. It has stories that hold the children's attention and has colorful pictures that reinforce the stories.
