Here, for the first time, is your very own collection of paper dolls inspired by the classic Little House books. Inside this book you'll find Laura, Mary, Baby Carrie, Ma, Pa, and their faithful bulldog, Jack. From helping Ma gather food in the garden to watching Pa play his fiddle, now you, too, can be a part of Laura and Mary's happy days in the Little House in the Big Woods.A playtime package for young Little House fans: six full-color paper dolls made of durable and sturdy card stock (Laura, Mary, Ma, Pa, Baby Carrie, and Jack the bulldog); several easy-to-detach and authentic outfits for each character; two full-color pull-out scenes (a cozy room inside the Little House and the garden outside); a special pouch to store everything; and the complete text of Winter Days in the Big Woods interspersed throughout the book.
Laura Ingalls Wilder was born in 1867 in the log cabin described in Little House in the Big Woods. She and her family traveled by covered wagon across the Midwest. Later, Laura and her husband, Almanzo Wilder, made their own covered-wagon trip with their daughter, Rose, to Mansfield, Missouri. There, believing in the importance of knowing where you began in order to appreciate how far you've come, Laura wrote about her childhood growing up on the American frontier. For millions of readers Laura lives on forever as the little pioneer girl in the beloved Little House books.
Renée Graef received her bachelor's degree in art from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She is the illustrator of numerous titles in the Little House publishing program, as well as Rodgers and Hammerstein's My Favorite Things and E.T.A Hoffman's The Nutcracker, adapted by Janet Schulman. She lives in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, with her husband and two children.
Marcia Reisinger5 Stars Out Of 5Very heartwarming for those who enjoy Laura's famiAugust 23, 2012Marcia ReisingerQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The warmth of the characters in these Big Woods Paper Dolls is heartwarming. Very realistic in it's characters and the clothes and accessories. The only problem was that the characters you punch out, but the clothes and accessories you have to cut out yourself. All 34 of them. I gave it to my 7 year old granddaughter on her birthday. She and her 2 sisters love the show. Having to cut them out outweighed the joy on their faces.
Jewel3 Stars Out Of 5Takes a long time to cut out!!!!December 25, 2010JewelQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1These paper dolls are beautifully done, and the outfits fit very nicely on the dolls and make a wonderful playset. However, I was very surprised to discover that the dresses and accessories had to be cut out by hand. The description says "several easy-to-detach and authentic outfits for each character", so I was not expecting to have to cut everything out by hand, but assumed they would be punch outs like other paper doll sets we have had. These dolls were a Christmas gift for my 6-year old, who definitely could not cut out such small, detailed items by herself. She was anxious to play with them, so I spent a good part of my Christmas day cutting out paper dolls! These are very nice dolls, but I think the description is quite misleading, so please be aware that these will require a lot of time to get ready to play with!
JOSHUA L.5 Stars Out Of 5January 25, 2010JOSHUA L.I love playing with these. It makes you want to go back into those times with all the pretty dresses. I have had these for 2 years. They are very nice. But they tend to rip a little too. But they can be taped back, and you can hardly tell that they've been ripped. Excellent collection, especially if you like the Little House show or books. You will not regret buying these. Very nice. A+++++++++++++++Highly recommended!!!
