Jeremy Sisto stars as the Son of God in this 174 minute production that vividly explores the life and mission of Jesus of Nazareth. Epic in scale and featuring a strong supporting cast (Gary Oldman, Debra Messing, Jacqueline Bisset, Luca Zingaretti, Jeroen Krabbe', Armin Mueller-Stahll and David O'Hara), this drama traces Jesus' journey from simple carpenter to spiritual leader, philosopher and martyr - focusing on His compassionate teachings as well as His relationships with Mary, Joseph, His apostles, persecutors and the Heavenly Father. Approx. 176 minutes.

Sister Riley5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome!January 9, 2015Sister RileyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This movie gives the outlook of the human side of Jesus. Understanding the scripture ...For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin (Hebrew 4:15). Yes!, He loved in this movie but remember Jesus is love and He did not sin in this movie. His youth was shown and portrayed as any one could have imagine Jesus as a teenager. A very good movie. I give it four thumbs up, mine and my Husband's.
BethSolvang, CAGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Pleasantly SurprisedOctober 26, 2013BethSolvang, CAGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This movie does not have to be perfect in the sense that it is 100% based on scripture. It's a Hollywood production. With that said, God used it to show me the human side of His Son I had never imagined. The Bible speaks of those who preach the Good News with selfish motives and the response is basically that Christ is glorified in spite of the motive behind the witness. I feel the same about this movie; it's a Hollywood production and 'creative license' was used as usual, but I was touched and moved by the Jesus portrayed and so have others I have shared the movie with. God will use what He wants, when He wants.
JasonLexington, SCAge: 35-44Gender: male2 Stars Out Of 5Very wanting view of JesusApril 13, 2013JasonLexington, SCAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2There are a few good illustrations and scenes in the film. However, along with the romance interest mentioned in another review, I thought the movie also portrayed Jesus as often being unsure of Himself and emotionally unbalanced. The actor that plays Jesus (and bears an uncanny resemblance to Jeff Bridges) is very good, but a lot of the film is outside the Gospels fantasy creation. For example, when Satan shows up in a three piece suit and transports Jesus to an everybody dies World War One combat scene. I would recommend the film "The Gospel of John". It is first rate and you can't go wrong with a word for word Gospel portrayal.
Phyl4 Stars Out Of 5March 8, 2013PhylQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Very good movie. The character who played Jesus was good, although he didn't appear as divine as I imagine the real Jesus did. Also felt there were some liberties taken, such as suggesting that Mary and Jesus were in love.
SuzieMAge: 25-341 Stars Out Of 5Not accurate to the Word of God!November 29, 2012SuzieMAge: 25-34Meets Expectations: 1I was very surprised to find that Jesus and Mary (Martha's sister) are protrayed as having feelings for each other. Mary hoping to marry Him? The Bible is clear about Jesus being Martha AND Mary's Lord and Savior. Jesus being a man in the flesh was SINLESS, loving all whom He came to save. Jesus is GOD! He knew what He was sent from heaven to do! I was very dissappointed to see the movie misrepresenting the Word of God!
