I'm in the process of teaching guitar to some friends of mine. One of the students found this book, and we all decided to buy it. The page in the back that lists the songs in order of difficulty is so helpful--it's going to be easy for my students to work their way through this book on their own. I really like that there's a chord chart for each song as well. The arrangements are well-arranged and easy to play and sing with. It's nice that each song is, for the most part, on one page, which makes playing at the park easier. I'd only request bigger print, which would probably lead to a bigger page size, from the publisher if they're considering changing anything, because it's hard for a group to sing along with the current print size. Great book!

It is a very good value!Great for a beginning guitarist or even for sight reading. There are marks to show when to strum and the chords are shown on each page (and in the back.) As an added help, some chords are simplified.I happen to like the songs in this volume better than some in volume 2, but both have a broad selection of hymns and choruses.
