I have been looking and looking for a way to introduce the Bible to my 5 year old niece. I found this book and read through it within a couple days and was extremely impressed with the content. Of course it is missing a lot of great content from the Bible, but I was just wanting something to start the conversation of God with her. There are things others have mentioned about Adam and Eve and about red instead of blood, but those are so minor. Kids just need an introduction to these stories and that is what this book provides. It makes me so happy to have this book. I will definitely use this to introduce God to my own children some day. I can't wait.
I was very disappointed to see that the stories were taken from the NIV. This should have been included in the description. Many of us do not want our children taught a false message and the NIV hides the truth. Mary was not just a young woman; she was a virgin. As to the Old Testament, at least tell the true ending, such as Jonah. The results of Jonah's preaching was salvation. The story of Judas was sadly incomplete. I was looking for the salvation story but did not find it. Children's primary need is to know what salvation really is. This book tells some good stories, but many times that's the problem; good stories told to children many times make them believe that they are only "good stories", not truth.
