Join Papa, Mama, Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear as they read favorite Bible stories together as a family and imagine what it would have been like to see Adam and Eve in the garden, watch Noah build the ark, and listen as Jesus tells a parable to the people. Told with words and pictures in the beloved Berenstain style, twenty-three Old and New Testament stories come alive for young readers.
Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from the family home and studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.
awestfall10225 Stars Out Of 5Great StartOctober 14, 2015awestfall1022Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I have been a big fan of the Bernstein Bears as long as I can remember. I got this book to start reading to my new daughter who is currently 6 months old. Is this a complete version of the Bible and include all the stories?, no. However it says Storybook and so I didn't expect anything other than some of the well known Bible stories.
The graphics are still in the class Berenstein design. The bright colors also help keep such young children interested.
The writing is also basic enough to be easily read by children 6/ 7 and above. My 8 year old daughter has picked it up several times and started to read it to the baby.

BrittanyAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Bible Story Starter for young kidsApril 9, 2015BrittanyAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have been looking and looking for a way to introduce the Bible to my 5 year old niece. I found this book and read through it within a couple days and was extremely impressed with the content. Of course it is missing a lot of great content from the Bible, but I was just wanting something to start the conversation of God with her. There are things others have mentioned about Adam and Eve and about red instead of blood, but those are so minor. Kids just need an introduction to these stories and that is what this book provides. It makes me so happy to have this book. I will definitely use this to introduce God to my own children some day. I can't wait.
Bob2 Stars Out Of 5Content of the bookSeptember 21, 2014BobQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1I was very disappointed to see that the stories were taken from the NIV. This should have been included in the description. Many of us do not want our children taught a false message and the NIV hides the truth. Mary was not just a young woman; she was a virgin. As to the Old Testament, at least tell the true ending, such as Jonah. The results of Jonah's preaching was salvation. The story of Judas was sadly incomplete. I was looking for the salvation story but did not find it. Children's primary need is to know what salvation really is. This book tells some good stories, but many times that's the problem; good stories told to children many times make them believe that they are only "good stories", not truth.
