Located in: Tulsa, OK Submitted: January 16, 2010 Tell us a little about yourself. I've been a writer for nine years now, and The Anonymous Bride is my 17th book to have published. I've always loved reading, and that hobby eventually led me to writing. On a personal note, I've been married 35 years to a great guy, I'm mom to four fabulous sons, have a sweet daughter-in-law, and the world's smartest four-year-old granddaughter. In my free time I love to read, watch my fav TV shows, or go to movies. What was your motivation behind this project? This book started with a "what if" question. What if a mail-order bride arrived in town to marry the local marshal, only he didn't order a bride. What if three brides arrived and had to participate in a contest to see who'd make the best wife? I thought this would be a fun concept for a book, and I'm delighted my publisher agreed. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This is a story about forgiving past hurts. Unforgiveness hurts the person holding the grudge more than anyone else. It's a story of letting go, and receiving and giving forgiveness and finding love. How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This was my first 100,000 word book to write, and I learned a lot about pacing the story and making daily deadlines for myself so that this long book would be finished by my publisher's deadline. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I'm a Christian, and God is my greastest source of inspiration and influence. My husband inspires me to keep going when things get tough, as do my writing buddies. As far as fav authors, there are too many to list. My fav genre by far is Christian historical romance. Fav singer is Josh Groban. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The Anonymous Brides is the first book in the Texas Boardinghouse Brides series. The second in the series is Second Chance Brides, which releases Oct. 2010, and the is Finally a Bride, which comes out April, 2011. Of course we all know that the marshal can't marry all the mail-order brides, so I tell their stories in the sequels. I love to hear from readers, so if you get a chance, please visit my website and sign my guestbook or drop me an email. Find Related Products |
