Tell us a little about yourself. Gregory Kayne Gregory has spent a successful career in music and media production. Most notably, his production and musical score of the audiobook Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ (TAN Publishing/Recorded Books) has achieved best-selling status world wide. Besides his full time job as Media Arts Director for Bethel Community Fellowship in Rochester, Gregory teaches music and audio production, and is a freelance recording engineer and church audio consultant. Mikayla Kayne As a marketing and art director, Mikayla has developed many regional and national advertising and promotional campaigns while working for a wide variety of clients from Fortune 500's to non-profits. Her self-published book, The Health Plan Diary, is available on Amazon.com. Together... Gregory and Mikayla are both songwriters, worship leaders and conference speakers who enjoy traveling and working together. They live in Rochester, NY, and cherish time spent homeschooling their three boys.
What was your motivation behind this project? After hearing several first-hand stories of supernatural occurrences surrounding spiritual and occult footholds, Gregory and Mikayla decided to research the topic further. The more they learned, the more The Angel Crest Deception began writing itself. Although fiction, this book is filled with real-life accounts and historically accurate back stories that are as eerie and maniacal as the book itself. The plot, conceived in 2006, seems almost ripped from todays headlines.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The Angel Crest Deception exposes just a few of the ways that the enemy has crept into our Western culture and even our churches, giving him a foothold in our homes and lives. It takes a look at our tendency in this country to put religious leaders on too high of a pedestal, and the harm that can do to good men and women of God. But most of all, it plays out a speculative near-future reality if drastic changes aren't made to our current political and legislative situation in this country. Very few are fighting to keep America's sovereignty intact, and it seems that daily more is being signed away. It has never been more feasible than it is today for the prophecy of the Mark of the beast to be mandated. All pieces of the puzzle needed to make it a reality are coming together, and that's not fiction. Christians need to be watchmen, aware of ALL of the enemy's schemes, from the personal to the international. The Angel Crest Deception gives the reader a primer for such a time as this. Being told from a cynical agnostic's perspective makes it a great gift for pre-Christians as well, and the Gospel is unfolded casually yet with impact.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The research for this novel changed Gregory and Mikayla's perspective on the end times and opened their eyes to prophecy being fulfilled quickly, almost daily now. When they began this project, Obama was a nobody, there had been no 'Arab Spring,' no country was in need of a bailout, currencies were stable, and RFID was still a fairly new technology. They began with a collection of stories of personal experiences that people had brought to them over several years, and the germ of an idea to turn those stories into a supernatural thriller. Political and technological news sent them down the speculative fiction path, extrapolating where we might be in just a few years if the nation remains on its current path. Through this project, the Kaynes found their purpose and their message.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Read Matthew 24 & 25 together in one sitting. Really hear what Jesus is telling us about the times we are facing now. Take note of the order in which He explains future events. Then examine the parables and ask yourself, in each parable, do all of the people consider themselves servants, virgins, members of the flock? All of the people are waiting with expectation for the same master. But in each parable, what happens to the followers who aren't watching, aren't prepared, didn't invest, or didn't love? Finally, ask yourself if all that you read in Matthew 24 & 25 lines up with what you've been taught about when to expect Jesus to return. Be ready to "stand firm to the end," whatever and whenever that might mean. Matthew 24:13. 1 Peter 5:8 Revelation 13:17 Revelation 14:11 Revelation 19:20 We know Jesus already has the victory - but we are the generation that must endure...to the end...to be saved. The Angel Crest Deception gives a glimpse into how subtly the enemy is already setting up our endurance challenge. * Find the Kaynes online * ** FB YT G+ Tw ** * /kaynecreative *
