Meet Little Hermiethe cutest baby caterpillar in the garden! Little Hermies thankful heart shows toddlers how to be thankful for Gods blessings.
Little Hermie is thankful for everything God has given him. He goes through his day thanking God for his many blessings in this adorable board book with flocking on the cover!
With over 5.5 million brands units sold, the new Little Hermie books open the wonderful world of the Hermie & Friends garden to an entirely new audience.
More than 120 million readers have found comfort in the writings of Max Lucado. He ministers at the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Denalyn, and a sweet but misbehaving mutt, Andy.
This little book is only five double-pages long, but its graphics are bright and eye appealing to youngsters. The printed words rhyme and offer simple but valuable lessons about life, theology, and nature. It's a good little book to read just before lights out. Dr. Dennis E. jeremyAge: 25-34Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5my kids love this book!October 30, 2012jeremyAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5It didn't take long for my two children to fall in love with Hermie, the thankful caterpillar. The book follows Hermie, an adorable caterpillar, as Hermie thanks God for all the ways God has blessed him. Especially in a culture that is always seeking more, this book tells a wonderful story of being thankful for all the things we have been blessed with. This is a wonderful message that I'm thankful to instil in my children through reading this book.
The quality of this book is incredible, both in the construction and artwork. With boardbook pages, this is a book I can allow my 3-year-old and 18-month old to read alone without fearing they will rip the pages. The illustrations are also well done. Both of my kids love to follow the story through the pictures. I will often hear my 3-year-old daughter reading the book to her younger brother through her memory from the pictures alone. I am very impressed with this book and am happy to read it first during bedtime.

JaelMaryborough, Qld, AustraliaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A delightful book for little readers!March 24, 2012JaelMaryborough, Qld, AustraliaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a delightful little book for beginning readers! Beautifully illustrated to capture the imagination and interest of young children, "Thank you, God, for blessing me" is a lovely way to introduce the concept of showing and expressing gratitude to God. It places thankfulness right at the heart of everyday life - reminding readers that the simple, common things of daily living can be the cause for praise and the source of blessing. This children's book is perfect for reading to the youngest infant, but also suitable for older children who may want to read it for themselves.
Young readers easily connect with the rhyming prayer of Hermie, the very cute caterpillar. Hermie is a loveable little character that Lucado uses to convey clear, concise, doctrinally-sound, Biblical truths to even the youngest of his readers (and those who read to them). The length of the book is just right - long enough to be jam-packed with sound teaching and short enough that the children will want to read it again and again - and again!
The chunky little book with its sturdy board covers is easy for little hands to hold and delightfully attractive to look at. Frank Endersby's illustrations are cute and colourful, with detail that invites the young reader to explore and discover, taking them on an adventurous and satisfying journey through a day in the life of Hermie.
Readers can always rely on Max Lucado to present a strong spiritual message, and "Thank you, God, for blessing me" definitely does not disappoint on this count.
I would not hesitate to recommend this book to families with young children, and would suggest that it could just as readily be tucked into any welcome-baby gift as it would be well-received by toddlers and children as old as five or six years of age.
Definitely a five-star book!

This book came shortly after Christmas, so it made for a good opportunity to read it together with my 6-month old son, focusing on the theme of thanksgiving and gratitude. The poetic rhymes are brilliant, easy to read and understand, yet oozing with biblical truths, suitabe for young readers. It follows along the Little Hermie series, you can see references, pictures of him and his creature friends. It covers various areas, like food, friends, creation. Though the book is colourful, and made from good material (suitable for spills and drops), we had wished for more vibrant, bright colors (tended to be a little drap, faint pastels), and more child-friendly e.g. BPA-free or not made in China. All in all, thanks for a nice little gift to review. Hope to see more Little Hermie books for review.

And by short, I mean short. It was only a few pages long. However, the book covered a wide variety of things that the main character is thankful for. It incorporated many different aspects of Hermie's life. I thought it was a great book to teach thankfulness for the things we have in a simple way to children. I would highly recommend this book for a parent with a young child.
