Zack Kahler heads back to Texas with a homeless eight-year-old pickpocket named Curly in tow. But soon Zack finds his hands full as he tries to run a newspaper, recover from a lost love, and keep his unruly charge out of trouble. Boardinghouse worker and life-long outcast Alice Hawkins has had her fair share of hurt and rejection. When Zack and Curly show up on her doorstep, more than one wounded heart is stirred with love. But soon a life-threatening illness and misunderstanding threaten to destroy all their hopes. Can the love of Christmas present a miracle to heal these Texan hearts?

Although I personally don't read much fiction, I was thrilled with the Christmas box selection for several of my friends. They have now already been blessed with 6 or 7 Christmas themed-books to read during the next month. The Texas books especially thrilled a minister's wife from that state. And as I looked through all of the books in the bargain box, I noted that they seemed wholesome in Little-House-on-the-Prairie-style...a strange occurrence in today's world of obscene literature, but a welcome one, indeed! Thank you for carrying such great products!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love books about the Christmas season. This was such a feel good book. It will make you laugh and maybe cry, but at the end you will be joyful.

My Mom is 91 years old and loves to read Christian fiction. What a nice surprise to be browsing and see this book for such a cheap price. I'm giving it to her for Christmas so it's nice to buy her something she will enjoy. By the way your service is excellent!

Loved it. Hope to see another sequel to this one. I loved the twins. Zack turned out to be a fine man of God. It was another story that made me want to read faster.

This is the fourth book in DiAnn Mills' Texas Legacy series...and, in my opinion, the best one! You could read it as a stand-alone novel, but knowing Zack Kahler's background really causes you to appreciate the man Zack has become. I love this book, have read it twice, the second time after having read "Leather & Lace," "Lanterns & Lace," and "Lightning and Lace." Get ready for a book to really, really touch your heart!
