Beautiful & Detailed Illustrations

This book is a captivating story, content and picture wise, about an interesting part of early 20th century America. It sure brought awareness of cowboy history to my attention!
? The only possible concern is in the last paragraph, depending on a person's viewpoint in a reference to magic. "An than magic happened: Ben's white horse seemed to glow in the moonlight., and the city felt warm and familiar."
As we are very conservative with our selection of material for our church's Children's Selection, we chose not to add this book into our church library.
As a homeschool Mom, I'd recommend this book as a wonderful addition for American history and/or specifically New York. Overall I give this a great thumbs up!
