Teaching Textbooks Math 5 Extra Workbook & Answer Key
We love this math program! I was a little apprehensive to use a computer program with my oldest daughter because she doesn't like sitting at the computer for long periods of time. But the program is so streamlined compared to the workbooks we used before that she ends up spending less time on math and learning more doing it this way. AND SHE LOVES IT! My girls actually fight over who gets to do math first every day.
One word of warning before buying: it's a little below grade level. My 4th grader is doing level 5 and my 2nd grader level 3. Also, I bought the textbook to go along with it. My kids don't use it, but I find it easier for ME to refer to the book to go over problems they might be having trouble on. I used it a lot in the begining, but very little now. I'm still glad I bought it (better resale value?), but the program can easily be used without it if you want to save a few dollars.

Shocked to see that the grade 5 math is closer to (a public school standard) grade 3. My fifth grader has already learned and mastered all of the material covered in the teaching textbook.

Necessary companion to the CD-Rom
I already owned the CD-Rom for TT5. Some people do not use the workbooks. My children struggle in math, so I feel that the workbook is necessary. They can work on scrap paper while using the CD, but I feel like that gives more opportunity for mistakes. The workbook can also be used on it's own if your computer fails. I think $40 is expensive for a workbook, but in TT defense, once you own the CD-Rom, $40 is not a bad deal for a year of math. I wish they would offer the workbook without the answer key for a discount. We have several answer keys floating around our house. It would also be nice if they offered the workbook without the lecture, for those just using the CD-Rom. A good math program, expecially for struggling students, and frustrated parents! :)

This is our 4th Teaching Textbook. The instruction is great and my son loves using this curriculum. I miss the separate parent section that allows me to go back and correct answers he wrote down correctly in his book, but entered incorrectly, which is available in Math 4.
