We are so pleased with this program! My son enjoyed it thoroughly. I chose to buy it without the CD-ROMs thinking I could always buy those later if we needed them, but we never did. My son loves math and learns it pretty easily, and is now doing Pre-calculus also without the CD-ROMS. I think someone who doesn't enjoy math as much would benefit from the CD-ROMS, which makes the program more fun, provides feedback after every problem, contains solutions for every problem, and also keeps track of grades. I am using the CD-ROMS for a reluctant math student in 7th grade, and he is also enjoying it and making rapid progress.

This was such a refreshing change from Saxon Math for my son. The book explains lessons very simply and practically. Then there are about 20 questions with review at the end of each chapter rather than within each lesson. He did better with this style of instruction. The child who does not want dry and irrelevant repetition will truly enjoy (as much as one can) Algebra. It is also laid out much more pleasing to the teenage eye than other programs I have used and incorporates humor throughout.
