Have you ever been stumped by an algebra problem that neither you nor your student could solve without the help of a certified professional because it wasn’t clearly explained in the textbook? Then read on. . . .
When it comes to computers, if you can wait long enough, you might just end up with the most cutting-edge technology for less money than you once paid for your old electric typewriter! Well, this principle often holds true with homeschool curriculum, too.
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, I found Algebra 1 & 2: Teaching Textbooks at the 2004 Wichita, Kansas, homeschool convention, where Karen and I were speaking. While walking the busy exhibit aisles, I spied a large PC monitor graphically teaching the concepts of algebra. Co-creator Greg Sabouri explained to me the uniqueness of this course.
1) No more guessing! Every example from the lesson lectures and every practice and homework problem from the accompanying student text are clearly and colorfully explained step by step and solved right before our eyes on the monitor.
2) This program was written exclusively for homeschool students and parents, so it has a friendly unstuffy tone.
3) You get 129 lessons, thousands of problems, and over 100 hours of audiovisual instruction on the CDs!
This is a truly affordable alternative to a personal tutor, proving that good things do come to those who wait. 654-page spiralbound student textbook with 111-page answer key and test books; 3 CD-ROMs for lecture and practice; 4 CD-ROMs for solution explanations.

We like this very well.It has made Algebra II much more manageable. We especially appreciate an explanation for each problem given.

I love the Teaching Textbooks and CD-Roms, they have helped the kids out so much and have freed up my time to work with the younger kids. After trying to spend two hours a day on Algebra trying to help the older kids, I was tired, it was time to try something else. The CD Rom kits are worth the money, definitely!! Now the older kids can do the Algebra with the CD-Roms and I can spend that time with the younger kids, without feeling wiped out.

I only give this program 4.5 stars because I had problems with some of the CD's. They would skip and sometimes not play. But, I still recommend this curriculum. My daughter, who hates math, only finished through the 13th chapter of this curriculum and tested into brief calculus when she took the maricopa county community college math placement test in Arizona.

The lessons are easy enough to understand even without listening to the lecture and practice CD's. It's great to have every problem worked out. We are close to finishing the book and it looks like it doesn't cover trigonometry. This is kind of a problem since most calculus and physics courses expect that some level of trigomometry has been addressed at the end of Algebra II.

These are great! Every since I have been buying these, math has been a whole lot easier. The program explains the lesson and then the child can go back and have each problem they missed explained. This software teaches the lesson for you and it is well worth the money. Do not compare this with the Life Pac software, which is really lame, this is well worth the cost difference.
