PsalmPilotOrlando, FlAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Simple but not "simplistic"July 4, 2013PsalmPilotOrlando, FlAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I purchased "Teach Us To Number Our Days" because I tend to collect devotionals and the price was unbeatable. I have started reading a chapter a night before bed. It is the perfect vehicle to bring my thoughts back to God at the end of the day. David Roper imparts a wisdom that comes with time and maturity and looks at aspects of life and aging which we may not otherwise want to look at. He examines the losses that come with aging and reveals the hidden blessings. I just started and am only on chapter 4 and it is requiring quite a bit of discipline not to read more than 1 chapter a night. I would compare this simple little book with Oswald Chambers' "My Utmost For His Highest" but not as deep or profound. That book (Chambers) can be a bit intimidating. Mr. Roper's book is easier to digest. It is simple without being "simplistic"

It is something that I have needed for just getting things right in my faith. I'm going to be marking my book up a whole lot Just to be able to page back to reread portions.
I'm also buying extra books to share.

entertaining and enlightening. As an Aging Baby Boomer I was comforted in knowing some of my experiences and outlooks are shared with others in Christ and it is all in Gods Long Term Plan.
