A good read. Action filled story filled with authenticity. Scary to realize that situations like this exist in our country. Hard subject matter handled in a gutsy way without being offensive to our faith.

It was a pleasure reading this book. I worked for the same employer as the author. I am thankful for him writing this book. It gave me another view of what the agents go through to accomplish keeping the citizens safe.

If the degenerates knew that the lady who witnessed them dumping a body was the wife of a FBI agent, they would have thought twice before leaving her for dead on the mountain overpass, because now Matt Hogan is on the case.

Matt Hogan's job requires him to become like the slime he's working to put behind bars. The undercover FBI agent finds himself living life on the edges of a branch of the Russian Mafia--a neo-Nazi group involved with all sorts of illegal enterprise including the sex-slave industry.

When his "in" is murdered, Hogan wonders if his cover is blown before he even gets started. Surviving so many close calls during this operation have him seriously considering that the God his wife puts her faith in might be real after all.

An excellent read, this book was clearly written with the male reader in mind. It is fast paced and action driven. It is clear that this author, a retired undercover FBI agent himself, knows what he is talking about. The undercover situation has a truly authentic feel I didn't know was missing from other similar novels until reading this one.

One thing to note: There is a bit more of the marriage relationship described between the agent and his wife than is typical in Christian novels. Nothing too over the top, but enough that I won't let my 15-year-old daughter read it.

I give this book 5 stars.

This book was provided to me for review from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Matt Hogan is back on the job, and that's bad news for a Russian, a Muslim terrorist. But it's the light of hope and justice to traumatized teen girls "imported" for the Russian's sex slave trade.

Bob Hamer's sophomore novel is awesome. I judge the quality of a book by how irritated I get with life for interrupting my reading time. And I have to say, I haven't been in a very good mood the last few days. This book is a compelling read. You can't read it without realizing the toll being an undercover FBI agent brings, and you are left with a refined sense of justice. I think the pace in this book was stronger, as was the overall storyline. It's exactly my type of read! I can't wait for more!!

Thanks to Bob Hamer for an ARC to read/review his latest work. No guns were held to my head or threats made in exchange for a positive review. ::grins::

This was my first FBI suspense novel and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I've never really been a fan of James Bond so I did not know if I would like a book based on an FBI agent's undercover story. I did not realize how much was involved in the undercover process or how much red tape there was. At one point I was frustrated for Matt as he needed to move forward with the case in order to preserve justice and yet to do so he would have to side-step the rules.

Robert Hamer did an excellent job of weaving into this story a faith in God that sustains us. I really appreciate the example of the power of prayer as Matt's wife is continually praying for her beloved and for those in her life. I had never taken any part of Micah and memorized it, however toward the end of this novel I found myself being able to recall portions of this scripture. There truly is power and calmness in the Word - this is shown in this book at the very climax.

This is a wonderful book that most certainly would appeal to anyone that likes action and adventure. Though some of the book is set in a place of ill repute because of the criminal nature of it - the main character sets an example of walking in this world and not being conformed. (I also think the fact that he realized that his wife was at home praying for him to be delivered from the evil one kept him from any temptation that might come from his line of work as an undercover agent.)

Thank you B&H and the author for this review copy. I look forward to reading more from Robert Hamer.
