Diana Waring's Romans, Reformers, Revolutionaries
July 28, 2015
This whole set of Diana Waring's CD's are wonderful. Diana is enthusiastic and warm in her storytelling, and she constantly reveals the excitement she feels about the Gospel being central to history. The Jewish nation and the Church being central to history, not sidelines, means that her choice of stories encourage us in our faith. Bible stories come alive when they're set in the context of the rest of history. This is exciting just to listen to with my children, even without the textbooks and workbooks that come with it. We've taken these sets with us while traveling on long and short trips. My husband likes them as well. History has become a family affair, and Diana is a household name.
I'm not sure whether we need the supporting books or not, since Diana gives instructions right on the audios about books we can read, as well as which types of books to look for. I have used the books one year for the early civilizations, but went without them for the later years of history. These CD's are that good!
