Stories of Promise, Protection, and Purpose
âÂÂTales of the Defended Onesâ is the second in the Story Weaver series. These real life juvenile fiction stories are heartwarming and life changing, challenging the reader to look beyond themselves to become a part in someone elseâÂÂs life and their story.
The book follows the format of the first book which includes a story that introduces a child in need, from different countries around the world. There is a parallel story that introduces individuals and organizations that minister to orphans, matching them to homes and families moved by GodâÂÂs love and compassion to reach out demonstrating that love while meeting specific individual needs.
In the six chapters of the book Beth Guckenberger introduces the Story Weaver, the Defender God, the work of Back2Back Ministries and the stories of five children from four counties; Ben and Joseph, orphans from Ethiopia, Antonio from Mexico, Caitlyn, a foster child from Ohio, in the United States, and Jorani from Cambodia.
Beth is a natural story teller and a gifted communicator. Each story relates the struggles challenging one of these children, and their circumstances. She goes on to show how their story provides the opportunity to demonstrate GodâÂÂs working in their life and to offer hope and protection as He works out His purpose.
A leaderâÂÂs guide is available for use as a resource or curriculum guide for teaching children missionary vision, compassion for others, and to introduce other cultures. âÂÂTales of the Defended Onesâ is engaging, ages graded for children eight years and older. Highly recommended.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed a my own.

It will Touch Your Heart...and Your Child's
âÂÂWarning: These stories may change the way you see the world.âÂÂ
Do you have a heart for the hurting children of the world? Do you want to pass that heart along to your children? Beth Guckenberger has written a book to help you do that. Tales of the Defended Ones tells true stories of children around the world â and how our Defender God rescued them from poverty, hunger, slavery, and other terrible situations. Written in language that is not offensive to a childâÂÂs ears, these true accounts will touch hearts and give ideas of small things even a child can do to help the plight of suffering children around the world. And hopefully, these stories will change a childâÂÂs life somewhere by impacting yours!

Stirring, Moving & Motivational
What an amazing and powerful book "Tales of the Defended Ones" is.
I enjoyed Beth Guckenberger's writing style; it was simple, easy to read and descriptive.
I journeyed to different parts of the world and learned about precious children. Children that perhaps seemed to have been forgotten, but weren't. Our heavenly Father watched over their lives and had a specific plan for each of them.
Beth Guckenberger refers to God as a Story Weaver. God is writing different chapters of their lives, our lives and the generations to come.
While reading about these children, I couldn't help but cry. What beautiful stories of redemption.
I highly recommend "Tales of the Defended Ones", you will definitely be stirred, moved and motivated to action.

Four Tales Of Children Defended By God
Beth Guckenberger in her new book "Tales Of The Defended Ones" published by Standard Publishing gives us the Warning: These Stories May Change The Way You See The World.
From the back cover: It was farther than Jorani had ever traveled before.
I hope I get back before dark. I hope this is a good job and they like me. I hope my hope is enough.
Ben and Joseph lose their mothers, but find a family looking just for them. Antonio is rescued from what seems like a hopeless situation. Caitlyn dares to trust that truth will set her free. Jorani is delivered from slavery into the arms of grace.
Follow these real-life stories as they take you on a journey to foreign places and extreme struggles. Travel through their challenges and see the hand of the great Storyweaver - our Defender God shielding and defending the defenseless in the amazing ways only he can. These are the tales of the ones left wounded and weak-ones made whole and strong . . .
All of us have a story to tell. The reason we have a story is because God gave it to us as He is the Storyweaver. Gos is also the Defender of the Weak and fatherless. Once you mix those two titles together you have the foundation of this book. There are four tales in "Tales Of The Defended Ones". These tales are stories of miracles and restoration however to get to that point they are also tales of misery and cruelty. They are not easy stories. The world is a harsh place to live in. However, God is God over everything and He can weave a story for everyone. Ms. Guckenberger has given us four tales that prove it.
