My review is actually based on the 2011 Edition, but I think the content of the Science is the same as the 2012. The content was very good - encompassing several general Science subjects (plants, animals, weather, solar system, etc). I felt it was grade-appropriate, although my daughter begs to differ - as she felt it was a bit on the difficult side. When she was too challenged, then I was there to help her. There was actually a lot of the SOS program that I never used, but it was nice to have so many functionalities if I needed them. I did like being able to have my own password and check her progress/grades on lessons, quizzes and tests; I was able to have her do some lessons over if her grades were low - we'd just do it together that time. There were some projects we chose to not do - and it was easy to adjust the assignments. The tutorial is helpful; I like that I could use it at any time if I forgot how to do something. Super great overall Science and SOS program. Highly recommend, especially if your child likes being on the computer.
The one annoyance: On several of the small video clips where there is a narrator standing in front of the camera talking, you can hear office background noise. It was almost like these people just took a minute out of their busy day right there in their noisy office to spout out a few lines read from cue cards. We'd laugh about how cheesy it seemed.
