Excellent Resource and Textbook for Zoology 2 Swimming Creatures
October 9, 2015
The Apologia elementary science series have been an excellent resource for our science studies since we began homeschooling a few years ago. I really appreciate the sequence of science fields beginning with Astronomy, Botany and then Zoology. We are half-way through Zoology 2. When I explored another creationist Science title my children would have none of it. They love the Apologia series.
I do find the need to supplement with videos and additional images for my visual (picture) and auditory learners. Despite that, the content is accurate, up-to-date, complete and written with a Genesis/creation perspective. For my family, this book has been a huge blessing.
A science text that is written in a non-textbook tone. Helps hold the attention much longer. The experiments are fun and relevant. I prefer the spiraling approach for math, but this 'mastery' approach for science. I think it makes more sense. I think it helps kids to build a 'compartment' in their brains to store information. This course is completely adaptable. For example, my non reading autistic son just listens, discusses, and does experiments. My older daughter really likes doing the companion workbook. I highly recommend the workbooks.
"I LOVE Zoology"! These are words a homeschool mom loves to hear! My daughter loves Apologia. She read through Zoology 1, so I bought this to do this semester. She said it is so interesting. The people at Apologia write "To" the student in language they can understand. I would recommend any of their products.
