Product Information
EndorsementsReading Sweet Waters is like taking a beach vacation from the comfort of your own living room.
Julie Carobini paints a beautiful story of fresh starts, painful secrets, and the depth of a family's love. The small town beach setting is as soothing as the sound of waves, and so well drawn I could almost smell the salt in the air. Engaging, fast paced, and romantic. Highly recommended. - Kathryn Cushman author of A Promise to Remember and Waiting for Daybreak Tara Sweet, oldest daughter of Marilee and the late Robert Sweet, has gladly suffered with the reputation as the responsible (her sisters would say, bossy!) one of the family. When her fiancé dumps her and Marilee reveals her shock plans of a year long honeymoon with a much younger man, desperation fuels Tara's impulsive decision to move back to her childhood home in Otter Bay, California. Dragging her little sister, Camille along for the ride, Tara soon discovers that her precious childhood memories may not reflect the reality that was her family's previous life in Otter Bay. Can Tara protect her sisters from the awful rumors and spiteful neighbours? And what of her sudden thoughts about church and God - does He really care? Sweet Waters is as delightful as dipping your toes in lapping waves on a sunny day! Julie Carobini has excelled in creating an inviting beachside community without compromising the realities of human nature and the difficulties of small town living. Tara's painful rejection by her fiance and the revelation of devastating family secrets are tempered by gentle humour, feisty and honest sibling rivalry and make for a heartwarming and inspiring read. The interaction between Tara and her sisters is spot on, reminiscent of sisters everywhere and the burgeoning attraction Tara feels for firefighter Josh, a man burdened by his own frailties, totally captivating. Sweet Waters is the perfect combination of playfulness, charm and enrichment. Julie Carobini has a winner on her hands and I am longing to return to Otter Bay for the next adventure! - Rel,www.relzreviewz.blogspot.com As sure as the ocean ebbs and flows with the tide, so life changes take the characters from one adventure to another in Julie Carobinis latest release, Sweet Waters. Exhilarating, fresh and warm as the summer breeze, this book is fun from start to finish. Grab your tanning oil and beach towel and immerse yourself in a great read thats sure to make a splash when it hits the store shelves! - Diann Hunt, Author, For Better or For Worse Julie Carobinis writing is really superb, and Sweet Waters is chick-lit at its very best! And I LOVE this line..."I've learned that moving on requires letting go of everything - except my faith." (p. 311) Isn't that the truth? You won't believe all that takes place before that statement can be made by ANY of the characters in this story! God is so faithful! Originally, this book was scheduled to release from B&H in August, but I just learned its already available! - http://berlysue.blogspot.com/ Julie Carobini's writing is really superb, and Sweet Waters is chick-lit at it's very best! There seems to be a bit of everything in this book, from romance, to drama, to adventure! The book is chock full of it all so you won't be bored! It was a fun, relaxing read. - Reviewed by Kim F. http://www.bookbargainsandpreviews.com Library JournalTara Sweet has had it with life in Missouri and decides to head home to coastal California where she has memories of a wonderful childhood before her father died. She expects to regain the happiness she once knew but instead discovers a complicated family history. A possible romance with a handsome firefighter and a future at the beach may not be enough to bring Tara the healing she seeks. VERDICT Carobini's third beach-themed chick-lit title (after Truffles by the Sea and Chocolate Beach) is competent young women's fiction and will appeal to readers who like Melody Carlson or Kristin Billerbeck.
