You Be SweetSharing Your Heart One Down-Home Dessert at a Time

By Patsy Caldwell and Amy Wilson

You know how those Southern dessert recipes go–a cup of sugar here, a stick of butter there, eight squares of baking chocolate, or a pint of the season's juiciest fruit. That recipe for blueberry cream pie–it's been passed around the church for so long nobody can quite remember who made it first. Or how about the one for red velvet cheesecake you've been trying to coax out of your sister-in-law for years? She serves it every Christmas Eve, but so far her lips are sealed.

This is a great book. I normally do not like cookbooks, but my sweet tooth got me interested in this book. The photos are yummy looking and I actually followed a recipe and everyone at the party loved it. But this is not your normal cook book it has some very cute stories and some very wonderful deserts. My favorite story was the Ladies Who Lunch. This story is true to form it is about some close friends who host a lunch and how each one knows what each one will prepare, but the one who puts them to shame is Virginia Tarver and how she spends special attention on everything. Especially the Rum Punch that has been handed down from Generations. It made me want to host a luncheon myself. Their are several stories along with deserts. This book was not a disappointment I enjoyed each page and I know that I will also become the talk of the town when I use these recipes. I can only say pick up this book and use it to begin your journey of hosting your parties. God Bless
