David, along with his wife Diane, have been guest speakers, giving talks at numerous locations around the country, to people with bipolar issues. Special attention is given for their involvement with DBSA - Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, in which David, along with his wife Diane, were honored "Keynote Speakers" and workshop leaders at DBSA's California convention workshop.
Dave has also dedicated considerable time to counsel many bipolar sufferers through bipolar online communities and has graciously donated hundreds of free books to people in crisis who could not otherwise afford to purchase one. The praises and gratitude he has been receiving for his work, are too many to mention. He has become recognized by health care professionals and bipolar sufferers alike, as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced people, for dealing with bipolar disorder.
"Since first diagnosed with bipolar disorder and after my own brush with death, I have become a passionate student of bipolar disorder. If you are interested in the truth about bipolar disorder and how to live with its hidden danger, then read our unique first hand account."
"My wife Diane and I want to equip bipolar sufferers and their families with awareness and tools to help them survive, overcome the illness, and thrive. Reading this book could save your life---that is why we have written this book." -- David Mariant

I was diagnosed three years ago, and while I am still struggling, I already knew the basics of the condition. I was hoping this book would give more hope for those diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, but it didn't, in my opinion.
Diana Pearman4 Stars Out Of 5June 25, 2009Diana PearmanHaving been treated for Bipolar II Depression for 10 years now, I had an interest in reading about someone else's experience with Bipolar mood disorder. When I started reading the story of David and Diane Mariant, I found it difficult to put the book down. What David and his family have gone through with this illness has been extremely traumatic, but they have used the experience and knowledge gained to help and enlighten othersI was blessed to have the benefit of Dr. Grant Mullen's book Emotionally Free". That is where I was educated on the symptoms, co-dependency, causes of disorders, meds used and more. I think that it was very brave and commendable that David and Diane Mariant shared their experiences in dealing with David's illness and their desire to help others dealing with bipolar mood disorder.Even though I am well educated about my disorder, David Mariant's book is interesting and informative to anyone who is suffering with bipolar or knows someone who is suffering with bipolar disorder.
