I am "Sue" in this book (not really, but her experience pretty much mirrored mine). My relationship with the other man only recently ended so my spouse and I aren't at the point where we're trying to rebuild our marriage. We will be meeting with a counselor soon, and I'm hopeful that with his help and the suggestions in this book, we can have the same outcome as Sue and Jon did. Right now I seriously don't know how, but the book gave me hope and right now hope is what I need. Carla, not everyone who has an affair is a bad person. Many times it IS the offended spouse who sends the cheater into another's arms. I never, ever thought this could happen to me.

This book places the majority of the blame for the affair on the BETRAYED spouse while alleviating the guilt of the CHEATING spouse and providing justification for the affair. It also assigns most of the responsibility for restoring the marriage on the BETRAYED spouse. As the betrayed spouse, it has only bred more anger, resentment, and depression for me. My husband and I are on our way to a better marriage, but no thanks to this book.
