Publisher's Description

Who do Christian teens say Jesus is and what does he mean in their lives? The answers might surprise you. In The Jesus Survey, Mike Nappa shares the groundbreaking results of a nationwide survey of Christian teenagers from sixteen different denominations. He shares his discoveries of how core beliefs about Jesus--and the Holy Spirit, prayer, evangelism, and more--influence the way a teen actually experiences God personally and offers ideas for helping teens overcome faulty perceptions.

Pastors, youth pastors, parents, and educators will find in The Jesus Survey both an enlightening and invaluable tool for understanding the faith of teens around them and a guide for helping teens nurture an authentic, satisfying, and vibrant relationship with Christ.

Author Bio

Mike Nappa is publisher of FamilyFans.com, a monthly e-magazine, as well as a bestselling and award-winning author and editor of many books, ministry resources, and magazine articles. He holds a master's degree in English and a bachelor's degree in Christian education with emphasis in Bible and theology.

Endorsements

Mike Nappa's research definitely reveals more about us than it does our teenagers. We can't expect youth to believe what they have not been taught at home or in the churches they attend. This book will challenge parents and youth leaders alike to pass their faith to students with accuracy and authenticity.
-Wayne Rice,
co-founder, Youth Specialties; author, Reinventing Youth Ministry (Again)

Every parent, youth worker, pastor, and Christian educator should read The Jesus Survey. Passing on the true faith to the next generation is one of the most critical needs of our day and this book will help us in that challenge. Mike Nappa gives us insight into not only what our kids do and do not believe, but why they are failing to embrace the core beliefs of the faith. Read and study this book; you will be glad you did.
-Josh McDowell,
bestselling author and noted youth speaker

If you're a youth worker or a parent of a teenager, you're committing malpractice if you don't read this book. The questions about basic Christian doctrine Mike Nappa asks teenagers, and their responses, will give you both a roadmap for where you need to head in your discipling journey with kids and the fuel to help you get there. Buried in the middle of this book is a question that represents our core challenge: 'So, at what point does the supposed faith of our teenagers actually become a false religion that's more idolatry than genuine relationship with God?' That's a question we're all compelled to answer.
-Rick Lawrence,
executive editor, Group Magazine

This book is full of interesting and informative data for parents, youth workers, and everyone else who cares about young people. Nappa gives us a rare glimpse into the spiritual lives of the next generation--and we walk away with a sense of hope and fresh challenge.
-Amy Simpson,
small groups editor, Christianity Today; author, Into the Word: How to Get the Most from Your Bible

Lace up your biblical boot straps; we are in a spiritual battle with and for our teens. The Jesus Survey offers a sobering insight. You hold in your hands valuable reflections into the thoughts and beliefs of the next generation.
-Mike Jones,
co-founder and executive director, Reach Workcamps

This book is very eye-opening. I has many graphs and charts in it interpreting the survey results that the book was focused on, making it easier to read. I bought this book full price at a bookstore for a friend last year. I was so thrilled to see it on sale here that I bought 10 more to give out to other friends!
