Tell us a little about yourself. I wrote the screenplay and co-produced Summertime Christmas as well as other Ehrenkrook Entertainment films. I am a wife and a mother of two young children.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wanted a fun, light-hearted project that could meet non-Christian families where they are at with Santa Claus and still share the real meaning of Christmas. This is also a response the the Harry Potter/witchcraft craze that is sweeping the world.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? A wonderful evening of family fun and a greater understanding/reminder that the "magic" of Christmas is really the miracle of Jesus Christ.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was expecting my daughter during filming so that was a pretty big impact! I was also overwhelmed by the scores of volunteers who gave of their time, energy and resources to be a part of this film. It was such a reminder of the brotherhood of Christianity.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The films that inspired this film are The Bells of St. Mary's, The Sandlot, and Miracle on 34th Street.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The issue of an International Agreement that takes authority away from parents and gives it to the govenment is inspired by the UN CRC. If the US Senate ratifies this treaty or something similiar it would strike a devastating blow to families in America.
