Tell us a little about yourself. I spent the first 20 years of my adult life in youth ministry, and for the past 9 years have been the director of The Timothy Center, a Christian counseling center in Austin, Texas that specializes in working with adolescents and their families. I've been married to my wife, Beth for almost 30 years and have three grown kids.
What was your motivation behind this project? Too many families came into my office with extremely defiant teens, and they couldn't find any Christian resource that dealt with the issue.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? That it's never too late to experience God healing and restoration in their families.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My heart goes out to every set of parents that I work with, knowing the daily struggle that they face in raising a defiant teen.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Dr. James Dobson, Dr. Ross Campbell, and Paul David Tripp, just to name a few.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hope this book can begin the process of hope and healing in your family or in the family of someone you know.
