I've had a copy of this devotional for years, and had finally put away my paperback copy it was so torn and tattered and held together with elastics. I love my new hardcover copy, and I'm starting in with underlining and marking it up, just like I did the first one, when something really speaks to me. I love the 'old English'. The turn of phrase used by authors in earlier generations is frequently so beautiful and causes one to think more about the subject. And I love the many writers Mrs. Cowan uses as her sources for the devotionals.
Streams in the Desert puts a little joy in your every day. In finding this edition for a friend, I'm seeing the Lord give the increase to many people in need of comfort. For some reason this particular version in this unique style seems to offer more wisdom and mental and spiritual challenges than the newer revised ones in today's language.
