Product Description

After losing his job David is pushed by his roommate to hire a life coach named Joyce. A decision aided in part by how pretty David finds this life coach, but also a desire to get unstuck in life. When Joyce invites him to join the volunteer group she takes to a retirement home David discovers his manipulative ex-boss, William, is part of the group and interested in Joyce as well. The motley crew of retirees instantly recognize the potential for drama with this love triangle. A wily old man goads the boys to battle for Joyce. As a result, David begrudgingly agrees to go to an open mic night Joyce holds for people to ponder the existence of God. It's there that a poet says a few things that cause David's head to tilt and move him a little further down the path of finding himself. The problem is the ungentlemanly competition he's still in with William. When that turns extreme, David makes a decision that nearly ruins his dual-level progress with Joyce. He's then forced to turn to the only community he has left, the ragtag band of retirees who point him in the direction of true north. A uniquely faith-friendly romantic comedy starring Grammy Award winner Rebecca St. James and Academy Award winner Shirley Jones.

I am a huge Rebecca St. James fan, but this movie was just plain bad. I am extremely grateful that I was able to see it for free.

Very disappointed with this film! I bought it at a Christian book store to have a family movie night. Good thing I previewed! Drunkenness, scantily clad women... seriously? ! I thought with Rebecca St. James in it that it would be clean. Very, very disappointed.

Great for sparking conversations with friends

    Drunkenness? Check.

    Sexually suggestive scenes? Check.

Mentions of the word "Jesus"? Zero.

Scenes with a clear presentation of the Gospel? None.

For those who can form an opinion of a film based on this checklist, I highly recommend steering clear of this movie. If however what you are looking for in a film is a well-written story, entertaining dialog, and a satisfying payoff with a few surprises, you might want to give this one a spin. If you particularly enjoy stories of compassion, wonder and spiritual discovery then this film was probably made for you. It is a fun-spirited romantic comedy that along the way becomes one of the more unique films I've seen about God's creativity and passion for each of us. It's also great conversation-starter to watch with friends who tend to steer clear of films that meet the criteria of the above checklist.

I also would not consider this a Christian movie. No mention of Christ. "God in you" speak used heavily toward end. Celebration of human beings, not of redemptive life. It is reflective of this pervasive notion creeping into Evangelical thought that we don't need a Saviour - God loves us as we are. Some funny clips - only strength. Overall, not a solid use of 2 hours of my time.

I would not rate this as a Christian movie. There was mention of God but it was vague. Lots of sexual suggestion. Very low in morals. NOT a family movie!!! Wish I had never bought it.
